The crane working above the rooftops with the crew set up below

Crane Tree Removal Brisbane

When a tree is too big, too dead or too badly placed to lower on ropes, the crane takes the weight instead. The climber makes the cut, the crane lifts the section clear over the roof, and nothing ever travels through the space you are trying to protect.

It sounds like the expensive option and often is not. A crane can halve the time on site and it removes the part of the job where things go wrong.

When a crane is the right call

Rigging works by controlling a piece as it falls. That is fine over open ground, and increasingly marginal over a roof, a pool or a neighbour’s garage. A crane changes the physics — the section is held before the cut is finished and never becomes a falling object at all. On the right tree, that turns a nervous day into a straightforward one.

Jobs we bring the crane to:

Cones and traffic control set out across the street before work starts

Why it works

What the crane actually changes

Four things, and all of them matter more on a difficult block than the hourly rate does.

  • Nothing is dropped

Each section is under tension before the cut finishes, so no limb is ever in free fall above your roof.

  • The climber is exposed for less time

Fewer cuts, less rigging to set, and no working under a loaded rope. On a decayed tree that is the whole argument.

  • The site stays clear

Sections go straight from the tree to the truck rather than piling up in the yard to be handled twice.

  • The day gets shorter

Which is why a crane job is often not the expensive quote it looks like on paper.

We will tell you at the quote, and why.

Crane work is planned, not improvised

A crane lift needs the set-up position worked out, the lift weights calculated section by section, ground conditions checked and, where the crane sits on the street, traffic control arranged in advance. That planning is the job. Our crews are AQF5 Diploma and Certificate 3 certified and fully insured, and we have run this on everything from suburban gums to an ironbark taken out whole over powerlines and houses with the road closed for the day.

Questions

Crane Tree Removal Brisbane — Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not always. The crane costs more per hour, but it can take a day off a difficult job and it removes risk that would otherwise be priced in. On the trees we recommend it for, it is frequently the cheaper of the two options — and we will show you the comparison rather than just asserting it.

  • Usually the street, occasionally the driveway if it will take the load. We check that before the day and arrange traffic control or a permit if the set-up affects the road.

  • Sometimes, for larger lifts. We handle the traffic control and the council side of it as part of the job rather than leaving it with you.

  • Generally yes, though ground conditions matter more out there than in the suburbs. Wet ground and a crane are a poor combination, so timing occasionally shifts with the weather.
