Tree Maintenance Contracts Brisbane

Reactive tree work is the expensive way to run a site. Something fails, it becomes urgent, and urgent work costs more than the same job scheduled. A maintenance program turns that into a known annual line rather than an unpredictable one.

It also produces the thing that matters when something does go wrong: a record showing the trees were being looked at.

What a program looks like

We inspect the trees on the site and produce a schedule — what needs doing now, what needs doing this year, and what simply needs watching and when. The work is then booked in around your calendar rather than arranged in a hurry after a storm. For a body corporate or a portfolio manager, that converts an unpredictable cost into a budgetable one.

Why programs pay

What you get that reactive work does not

Four things, and the last one is the one that matters when it matters.

  • A budget you can set

Planned work can be costed for the year ahead. Emergency work cannot, and it always lands in the month you had no room for it.

  • Fewer failures

Most storm damage happens to deadwood and defects that were visible beforehand. Taking them out on a schedule is far cheaper than clearing them off a carport.

  • Work at sensible times

Scheduled jobs get done when the site is quiet. Emergency jobs get done whenever the tree decides.

  • A record that you were managing them

If a tree does fail and someone asks what was being done about it, an inspection history is a very different answer to not having one.

Storm season rewards the sites that prepared

Brisbane gets its weather in a fairly predictable window, and the sites that come through it well are the ones where the deadwood came out in winter. After a big storm every crew in the city is booked, and the site that did nothing in advance joins a queue behind the ones that did. A program is partly maintenance and partly a place in that queue. We are fully insured for public liability and WorkCover, and our arborists are AQF5 Diploma and Certificate 3 certified.

Questions

Maintenance Contracts — Frequently Asked Questions

  • Broadly, a body corporate is responsible for maintaining common property in good condition, and trees on common property fall within that. The detail depends on your plan and the regulation module that applies, so confirm the specifics with your strata manager. What we can tell you is the arboricultural side — what condition the trees are in and what maintaining them properly involves.

  • It depends on the trees, the site and what is underneath them. A recommended interval is part of what an inspection produces, rather than a fixed number we would quote in advance.

  • Generally, because planned work is more efficient than emergency work and because catching a defect early is cheaper than dealing with a failure. We will set the comparison out when we quote rather than just asserting it.

  • Sites on a program get priority when something goes wrong, which matters most in the week after a storm when everyone is calling at once.
