What consulting work covers
Anything where somebody needs a defensible position on a tree. That runs from a homeowner wanting to know if a tree is safe, through to development sites where retained trees need protection zones set and the works supervised so the trees survive construction. The common thread is that the output is a document and an opinion rather than a cleared site.

There is a real gap between arborists who only consult and crews who only cut. Consultants sometimes recommend work that is not practical to execute on a tight suburban block; crews sometimes cut without understanding what it does to the tree. Our team is AQF5 Diploma and Certificate 3 certified and we are on the Queensland Arboricultural Association’s Register of Approved Contractors and Consultants — and because we also do the removals and the pruning, the recommendations are grounded in what can actually be achieved on the site.

It is a different function rather than a different person. Consulting is the assessment and advice; the practical work is the pruning and removal. We do both, and we will be clear about which one you are actually engaging us for.
Yes — setting protection zones, specifying what happens within them and inspecting during works. Talk to us early, because the cheapest time to protect a tree is before anything is dug.
Where genuine independence matters — a contested application or a dispute — there is a fair argument that the assessor and the contractor should be different people, and we would rather raise that ourselves than have the report questioned later.
